little ida...
Remember that gorgeous pregnant lady from a few posts back? Well, meet her beautiful little baby girl.
It was so wonderful shooting newborn pictures of Ida (isn't that the best name?!) and her family.
It was a little nerve wracking shooting for her dad who happens to be C.J Burton , an AMAZING and imaginative "illustrative photographer". He has worked with Time magazine, Esquire, Newsweek, LA times, Oprah and the list goes on... check out his work. He really is out of this world! But, they were all so easy going and made the whole experience nothing but wonderful and I can't thank the whole family enough!

day at the diner...
Today I wanted to revisit a place my husband and I went to eat just before Christmas. It serves all day breakfast and takes you waaaaaaayyy back. The vibe in there is totally cool and the food is great!
p.s. I already know my family will make fun of me for using the word vibe.
No four year old should be able to make this face. It makes me think of, "how you doin'?"
Yep, we already know it- we are in TROUBLE!

mans best friend...seriously...
I have NEVER seen a dog loved more than this guy. Even though he is the "100 pound mouse" it doesn't keep him from getting cradled, snuggled, and toted around. The relationship between these two is nothing like I've ever seen!

freshness...
This little angel is just over a week old here. She was quite alert for such a tiny little girl.
She is so perfect. From pregnancy, to delivery, to being a newborn, she is making life pretty easy on her mom and dad! Or maybe they are just really great parents!
Black and white on this next one or colour? I couldn't decide! Doesn't she look older than a week old here?

almost heaven...
I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph a beautiful woman yesterday who is just one week away from her due date!
This mom was a little hesitant to do it, but I talked her into it! I had always wanted to have photos of myself taken while pregnant but could never get the nerve to do it. Crazy I know. I now live with that regret and am so glad that I was able to convince her not to!
There were over 100 images that I actually LOVED and it was hard to narrow them down, but here are a few for now.
Pictures of that little baby should follow soon! :)

PPS. She did not have ONE stretch mark. It's surprising that I'm still talking to her.

cabin time...
We have been relaxing at the cabin for nearly a week now and it's been great. Here are a few pictures from earlier today. It was absolutely gorgeous out so we rented some skidoos and pulled the kids behind in tubes. It was wonderful...

Check out this sky. The crazy part is that it was snowing quite heavily just a few hours before. It truly was a beautiful day!
We met this awesome dog who apparently just roams around town. He was so much fun and played "catch the snowball" with the kids forever. We all wanted to take him home.
I am glad that Katelyn wears this penguin hat I gave her with pride. It looks cute on her!

christmas...
Here are a few pictures from our Christmas. Since I am a natural light photographer, I hate having to use an external flash. Here they are anyway, bad colour and all!
Here Santa is reading a letter...
My wonderful son has refused to remove his "ninja mask" all Season long! He even sleeps in it. I had to document it here!

Here is our family room after Santa came to visit. I thought I"d leave it blurry so you couldn't see how spoiled the kids are. They had a great Christmas though and did work hard to provide Christmas for many other kids this year so I think they deserved it!
This is Eddie, our Elf on the Shelf. He has been checking the children's behavior since about mid November. He watches them all day long, reports back to the North Pole each night and returns in a different spot each day. It's been a lot of fun to see where he will be sitting when the kids get up each morning
. If you don't have an Elf on the Shelf, you should really get one!

There are a few really awesome things about this photo. The first might be hard to spot but if you look to the left of my oldest son's head, you'll notice my Christmas present. Yep, it's that little box that says "canon" on it!! What a surprise. This picture was taken with my new gift. I think we'll have a lot of fun together!
The second awesome thing is my son of course. He got dressed up like this and went to a movie- lucky for him his papa got dressed up the same way! They are so funny.
Oh ya, I think the Christmas lights in the back are pretty amazing too!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great one. It's so much fun to spend time with out family, do things for others, and maybe even find some time to relax!
